Workshop Description

Fundamentals of Agricultural Resilience: September 24-26, 2025

In this intensive two-and-a-half-day program, we delve deeply into a diverse array of agricultural topics, spanning from holistic systems thinking to the intricacies of soil health. Our exploration encompasses gaining insight into the origins of agricultural challenges, their evolutionary path, and practical solutions.

Participants actively engage in enlightening discussions, debunking myths related to food production, and immersing themselves in hands-on activities like land monitoring. We provide a comprehensive overview of the essential services required for the production, processing, and monetization of agricultural products.

Farm-to-table meals are provided throughout the workshop, including hearty breakfasts, delicious lunches, and evening suppers prepared by the White Oak Pastures culinary team. These shared meals offer a valuable opportunity to connect with fellow participants and White Oak staff in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

Leading this program is Phil Bonelli, regenerative farmer and co-founder of Hopewell Farms GA in North Georgia. Alongside his wife Lindsay and their five children, Phil stewards a vibrant, family-run farm committed to improving the health of the land, water, and air through rotational grazing and nature-based practices. At Hopewell Farms GA, cattle, chickens, pigs, and turkeys are thoughtfully raised on pasture and in forested environments, in alignment with regenerative principles.

Phil brings to the workshop not only practical experience but a deep passion for sharing what he's learned from years of hands-on farming. Grounded, approachable, and community-minded, Phil offers participants an authentic look at what regenerative agriculture looks like in practice—from the challenges of daily chores to the big-picture thinking needed to transform our food systems. His teaching style blends lived experience with curiosity, humility, and humor, making this workshop both educational and deeply inspiring.
